The Ring o’ Fire
Well last weekend was really one to remember and..
…my hat goes off to all the competitors of the Ring o’ Fire. A three day challenge, not for the faint-hearted who made their way around the entire coastal path of Anglesey. The race started in Holyhead for the first 35mile leg to Amlwch leisure centre where Fran and I(Liz) from LV sports massage were on hand to help with muscle soreness on many tired legs. The following morning brought a 6am start for all surviving runners and a 65 mile trek in front of them (yes that’s right, I did say 65miles!), finishing in Aberffraw Village Hall. Fran and I spared a thought for the runners as we attended the annual seafood festival, especially as we tucked in to freshly made paella!!! We did however make it to Aberffraw in time for the first of many runners at 6o’clock and treated weary legs and hips til 4am. I like to think we helped many of the guys to complete the final day. Another 6am start and ONLY 35miles left! The girls from LV sports massage made our way to the finish line back in Holyhead, where we cheered all the amazing competitors home. Thanks to James and Q for letting us be a part of such a great event, would recommend to anyone (with a strong enough backbone!) and we look forward to seeing you all next year.
